We were up early and had a fairly easy drive across Louisiana. Here are a few observations:
- Tallulah, LA’s welcome billboard: “Old Times Here Are Not Forgotten” with a picture of a plantation house. Really?
- “Honey come home; the kids and I love you” from rejoiceministries.com. Huh?
- “Froghead Grill: Know it, Love it, Ribbit”
We crossed the Mississippi in to Vicksburg, MS:
…and indulged in one of my food memories, BBQ from Goldie’s (I prefer Texas BBQ to Mississippi).
We got on the Natchez Trace and enjoyed the sunny drive. Trees are not in full bloom yet, though there are Daffodils. There was hardly a car the whole time. We got to Jeff Busby, the free campground, chatted with a guy from St. Joseph’s Island in the Sault area, and enjoyed the quiet for a night.
