Left
the lovely Blackwater River early and headed nearby. Passed the nice
horse farm a second time and noted the anti-Obama messages (something
like "If your mother had access to free contraception, do you think you would have lived to be President?"). How to make something pretty so ugly.
Did a
big WalMart shop and found a Lowe's for Internet. Then headed a little
south towards Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park. Nice new highway.
At one point, in the distance, we saw an airplane flying slowly by
and a dozen or so parachutists dropping from the rear. Cool. It's the
Eglin Air Force Base, so must be related.
Got to
the park early and got into Site 22. These are HUGE sites,
immaculately cleaned and cheap ($33 for two nights with electric and
water).
A
fellow Ontarian dropped by. He grew up in Peterborough, his wife is
from Lakefield and he knew guys that David knew at Outboard. Small
world.
We
biked two of the three nature trails and enjoyed the quiet. I miss
the ocean, but it's warm and we're outside and life is good.
