It's a
time change, so we're a bit turned around!
Woke
to an overcast but warm day. We hiked the third trail and it was so
quiet and lovely. We were welcomed by a Great Egret looking for
breakfast:
We saw
some footprints that were suspicious (okay, I thought a Florida
Panther, but our poop and scat identification book said dog. Jeesh).
But mostly just birds (we saw Jays and Cardinals and heard Ospreys).
We took the bikes out of the park in the afternoon. I thought it
was interesting at Grayton Beach to ride from the “wilderness” to
a Starbucks, but here we took a sidewalk several miles into strip
malls, a Winn Dixie and a well-deserved McFlurry!
After
dinner, with darkness now coming an hour “later”, we enjoyed the
nicest part of the day, some sun and warmth and enjoyed a coffee and
the neighbour pouring gallons of BBQ starter onto his campfire (he
never did get it to catch!).
Here's
the view of me IN my chair (we wanted to show how big these campsites
are):
