Florida Day 7

We're feeling tired and crispy after another day in the sun (even with sunscreen and hats!).


Continued to see many osprey (there are nests everywhere) and even this sleeping pelican at the fishing pier at the port:

We rode to Fort Pickens and did the self-guided tour. You get a real sense of how important Pensacola was as a harbour. This fort defended it from the mid 1800's until post WWII. It even housed Geronimo for a time. It was built by slaves and it is a feat of architecture. Here are some photos:

After lunch, we headed back to the beach. I walked some and David “rested”. There are still very few people here. The beach is so perfect and the campground good and cheap. We're happy there aren't a lot of kids or noise. Maybe Spring Break will be different. But we'll be somewhere else. Who knows where?

Loved today. Lots of nice people at the park.
